Final Fantasy XV has been in development for what seems like an eternity. But being New Year’s Eve (or Day, depending on where you live), changes are afoot: Final Fantasy XV and its all-dude bro’d-trip will release in 2016. The news comes by way of a… …read more
Don’t worry, you’re not living out a 13 Going on 30 scenario — you’re only “celebrating” 46 years of Facebook friendship with someone right now because of a glitch. A Unix-based glitch, that is. (That said, sorry to burst your bubble if you woke up… …read more
As a reminder of one of 2015’s greatest accomplishments, SpaceX founder Elon Musk posted one more picture (embedded below) of the record setting Falcon 9 rocket it launched to space and then landed again at Cape Canaveral. Now the rocket is back in i… …read more
LOS ANGELES — For big, fun, populist popcorn movies, 2015 was a grand fireworks show with a blowout finale. For quiet adult dramas and prestige films, it started with a pop … and ended in a fizzle.
That’s why I struggled mightily to fill out a Top 10 for 2015, the biggest year ever at the North American box office. It’s also why this list is overwhelmed with blockbusters and populist hits.
And none packed more firepower than Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Mashable‘s No. 1 movie of the year. Using a “best-in-show” mentality — that the biggest prize goes to the most fulfilling representation of its breed — there really is no contest in the Year of the Blockbuster. …
While you’re busy putting on a fancy dress or a shirt and tie for tonight’s festivities, millions of parents around the world have to figure out how to trick their kids into going to bed at a decent hour on New Year’s Eve so they can do the same. Net… …read more
Yet another batch of emails from Hillary Clinton’s personal email server were released Thursday afternoon.
The New Year’s Eve news dump included more than 1,200 emails from the former secretary of state’s personal email account, which dogged her campaign for the early part of her candidacy
The release now brings the total number of email pages made public to more than 40,000. That, however, did not meet the court-ordered mandate that the State Department release 43,000 pages by the end of the year. The State Department said it will release more emails next week to account for the missed deadline. …
From 2009 through 2012, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jennifer “JWoww” Farley were known as part of the partying crew on MTV’s The Jersey Shore. They then moved on to their own spin-off reality show Snooki & JWoww.
Now, the BFFs — who both have kids — have “swapped bottle service for bottle feeding” with their new show Moms with Attitude, from AwesomenessTV’s digital millennial mom network Awestruck.
It may seem odd to have the former party animals helm a show about motherhood, but Polizzi and Farley’s online series, available on Verizon’s go90 platform and YouTube, is just the latest example of the digital entertainment industry’s efforts to expand content geared toward millennial moms over the past year. …

If the final big sporting events of 2015 are any indication, 2016 will mark the post-modern corporate dystopia we’ve all long-feared is our soul-crushing destiny as a species.
You’ll find the proof, however, in an unusual place: The most recent episode of General Hospital.
We’ll soon get to how General Hospital reveals our slipping collective grip on the final shards of anything resembling cultural authenticity. But first, we need to back up a bit
Last year was the first-ever college football playoff. Four teams faced off to crown one final champion. ESPN owns the rights to this goldmine, and last year the semifinals drew massive ratings …
If you’ve ever been at a New Year’s party as a single person, chances are you were at least open to the possibility of kissing one of the other guests at midnight. But, sometimes it’s unclear what the relationship dynamics are at any given party
That’s where this rather brilliant Imgur post comes into play, courtesy of Redditor CopyRasta, who apparently attended a New Year’s party where singles wore one color of glow-in-the-dark bracelet, and people in relationships wore a different color.
And sure, the bracelet might not go with your outfit, and you might not feel like wearing jewelry. …
