Here’s a snake eating a possum, because Australia


Australian animals are terrifying enough, but it doesn’t get more unsettling than watching one of them eat another.

A carpet python named Monty was filmed devouring a possum in the backyard of Gold Coast resident Greg Hosking’s home on Monday afternoon.

“It was pretty exciting to watch. It’s mesmerising in an alarming kind of way,” Hosking told ABC News.

It took about 45 minutes for Monty to devour the possum, but we think this 1-minute video is enough for most people. …

SpaceX rocket meant to be destroyed somehow survives


SpaceX had a delightful surprise on Wednesday.

The private spaceflight company launched its Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral with Luxembourg’s first military satellite, GovSat-1, in tow.

The satellite, to be used for secure communications over sea and humanitarian operations, was successfully deployed 32 minutes into its flight.

But in that time, something rather remarkable happened: A Falcon 9 first stage booster survived its water landing in the Atlantic Ocean. That wasn’t supposed to happen.

In fact, the booster appears to be relatively intact, and now SpaceX will try to bring the rocket back to shore. …

Logan Paul is getting roasted. Again.

This time it’s for a controversial comment he left on Cardi B’s Instagram.

The rapper posted this photo of her at the Grammys on Wednesday with the caption “They trinna crucify me like they did Christ .”

Facebook promoted lies and conspiracy theories following Amtrak crash


Facebook just can’t help itself.

Following news Wednesday morning that an Amtrak train full of Congressional Republicans crashed into a truck, the social media site was soon promoting conspiracy theories and lies purporting to explain the sinister forces behind the tragedy that left one person dead.

For a company that has publicly and repeatedly been accused of enabling the spread of so-called “fake news,” this is just yet another major misstep in a long line of missteps.
